Skydiving

SkydivingFlag jump

The Philippine Hot Air Balloon Fiesta is our annual reunion. A friendship forged by a common passion. Kindred spirits melded into a fantastic homogeny of blue skies, wispy clouds and grips held thru 120 mph. From generals to noncoms. From burly men to two unassuming females. As happy to be furiously falling as we are curiously chatting whilst immersed in the faintest trace of very high octane fuel.

We raise our right arms in unison and shout “AIRBORNE” as our aircraft’s gears touch off the hot earth. Nowhere else will you feel a sense of intimacy as naked as the fervency of a jump anticipated. Jump run is declared, all players get ready to exit. One by one, like notes played adagio, we step off. Falling, flying, soaring, smiling, we fly in formation: 2-ways, 3-ways, 4-ways, 5-ways.... pure magic. And all you’ll ever see are angels with wings of colorful nylon alighting.

Skydiving brings forth an aggregate of emotions and senses so surreal, so powerful that words fail to fully describe it. You just have to be there.

Players this year are the skydiving teams of The Philippine Army, The Philippine Air Force, The Philippine Marines and The Philippine National Police. And our very good friends, the Thai Skydiving Team headed by Capt. Khunton Boonpragob.

Be part of the magic, watch us play.

This year, we will ask the kids to participate in a skydive bingo!

Tickets for the Bingo will be given to children on the Fiesta grounds on Thursday, Friday, and Sunday. These tickets will be given to ladies of all ages on Saturday to commemorate Valentine's day.

Here's how it works: there will be three markers on the ground in the dropzone. Each of these markers will have a basket on it with ticket stubs. We, the skydivers, will attempt to land within ten paces of a marker, so that we can get to pick a stub from that marker. If you or your child's ticket matches the stub we pick, you win a prize!
