Starting to Fly - Sport Aviation

Paragliding is a recreational flying sport. It the simplest form of flying using a specially tailored wing to enable the pilot to fly without using any form of engine. Pilots usually launch from a hilltop and use air rising up a mountain (ridge lift) or thermals to stay aloft.

The recently formed Philippine Paragliding and Hang Gliding Association – PPHGA – is proud to inform you of the first project to promote paragliding in the Philippines.

Under the leadership of the first PPHGA president, Randell Raymundo, international pilots will be making themselves available in the Philippines to conduct tandem flights and a basic paragliding course this February 2010.

A tandem flight is the least stressful way to paraglide: just sit and enjoy the view.  He/She may be allowed to control the paraglider, if the instructor allows. PPHGA cannot assure flights as we are always dependent on weather.  Schedule must be flexible.  In case there is a chance of no flight for the day that you choose, we can reschedule you on another day for no additional cost.  Due to the nature of the sport, that it is dependent on wind conditions, expect to wait at fly site for safe flying conditions.

DATES: Feb 7-10  ( 4 flights per day only) Morning and Afternoon sessions
10-20 min flight depending on wind conditions.
COST:   $40  plus P500 for non PPHGA members
